Party plans for Hanadoki Con
Mar. 16th, 2015 05:20 pmI've got to figure out what I need to bring to San Diego for three parties at Hanadoki-Con. I'd like to get started when I arrive Thursday afternoon. These are my notes, which will eventually translate to my panic list.
Taco Party on Thursday. Ground beef, shredded beef, pork carnitas, chicken mole. Rice, black beans, salsa, hot sauce, guacamole, sour cream. I'd like to be able to warm up the tortillas but that would require another heating device, possibly one I don't have.
Peanut Butter & Jelly on Friday. A small assortment of bread, peanut butter (including almond butter, cashew butter, and chocolate-almond spread, maybe Nutella too). Also a toaster, and fixings for cinnamon toast and garlic toast. Possibly do the mac & cheese as well, which would use one of Thursday's crockpots, and the paper boats.
Private Party Saturday. Fancier stuff. Thinking of doing "food on sticks" which means we spend the afternoon cutting things up. Menu: "Food on sticks." Fruit kebabs; veg kebabs; meat and cheese kebabs; meatballs in barbecue sauce. Assorted cans of regular and diet soda, in two different ice chests. Ice chest for ice supply at bar. Pitchers of iced tea, limeade, and spiced cider. Printed invitations/tickets. 100-150 people, budget $75-$100.
I'm estimating 600 people at the con, which would translate to 200 visitors for the Friday night, and maybe 50 to 100 for Thursday night.
( Working out my shopping and packing lists. )
