Big sign over the Long Beach Convention Center entrance.

These photos are now online:

Exterior of Long Beach Convention Center. The AX sign is kind of small for where it's put.

Just catching up on my photo flotsam and jetsam. I'm trying something new on this LJ post: clicking on a picture on the right takes you straight to the viewing size image, instead of to the display pages -- you can get to those by clicking the text links on the left. What do you think? ([livejournal.com profile] colleency inspired me to make something to automatically generate the HTML, specifically for convenience in posting LJ posts. Thanks, Colleen!) In the case of the shot of me and [livejournal.com profile] library_lynn the photo was taken at the very end of our visit on Stepfather's Day. (We celebrate "Stepfather's Day" the weekend after Father's Day -- Maria has an actual father who gets dibs on Father's Day.)

The two photos of the Long Beach Convention Center illustrate different points of view in what an appropriate size would be for a banner for a convention at the LBCC. I'd stopped by the Long Beach Hyatt and the LBCC three weeks before Anime Expo, to scope out the lay of the land. So after seeing the PHCC sign, I was surprised at how small AX's sign was. Apparently AX people were surprised by it as well.

Incidentally, I hear that AX's Staff-vs.-the-Board controversy has ended up with three of the four board members stepping down, either right away or later this year when their terms are up. So that means there are eight open spots on the SPJA Board of Directors. Anyone want to be on their board? Maybe you can keep an eye on things like appropriate signage sizes, because the whole facility-laising job is controlled by the board and I'm sure sign-hanging falls under that.

(Today's song starts about 48:30 into the 2007-08-11 "Good 'n Country" show. If you want to listen, though, be quick -- it goes away in two days, they only keep them on the website for two weeks.)
