Well, I'm starting to get somewhere. I've skimmed through 50,000 photos and other jpegs that belong to 2003-2004 were the years hardest hit by the disk failure. If you go to my 2004 pictures and scroll down to "May" right now, there's only one photo of approximately 244 that I took at Demicon on the server. So the restoration will begin -- you'll see it if you check that link later, there will be fewer "LOST" and "INCOMPLETE" messages on the Demicon files when I get these snaps reinstated.
Yippee!
EDIT: I've also found a bunch of photos from Dee's funeral in Kansas City, Mike and Sharon's wedding (but if they're able to send me a cd-rom it'll be a great help), Mariel's twins, and some Corflu photos.

Date: 2005-10-21 01:25 pm (UTC)You soooooooooo rock - first for having the site and now for going to such heroic lengths to restore it! I think Selina said it best with her post of "You don't know what you have until it's gone." I'm reasonably sure I'm not the only one who was guilty of taking Hazel's Picture Gallary pretty much for granted. I know I never will feel that way again. You've created a very special gift for so many of us and that you're willing to recreate it now says something pretty amazing about your character and commitment to your friends and fandom in general. So, let me say again: YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO *R*O*C*K*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Unallocated Clusters
Date: 2005-10-21 05:21 pm (UTC)Unallocated Clusters would make a fine band name, or it could be an informal term for a random gathering of an unspecified number of gentlemen who happen to have several physical characteristics in common.
