Pictures from Coppercon on Saturday are up. The notebook from that trip is at the office (I think) so the captions aren't all ready, but you can click on
nolly and me to see them.
So, we got back from Noreascon on Tuesday afternoon -- and then Friday night it was time to drive out to Coppercon. Coppercon is the annual convention in the Phoenix Arizona area; I'd been to a Coppercon before, but not in a few years. I was heading out to promote
laconiv mostly, and drop off some flyers for
animelosangeles as well.
nolly was kind enough to agree to help me, including donating the use of her truck for the long drive to and from. I've promoted an L.A. Worldcon at an out-of-town convention singlehandedly before, but I was ten years younger then; I want a sidekick from now on! And
nolly is friendly and personable, and knows lots of people, and is generally a good reliable pal to have along. I was delighted that she agreed to come out and be my minion for the weekend. (Thanks!)
The Embassy Suites Phoenix North was this year's hotel for Coppercon, and we rolled in after 2:00 am. We found our fan table, set up the new red
laconiv tablecloth and went to bed. It was late... Embassy Suites (as you know, Bob) has a full cooked breakfast included with the room rates, so our weekend started with breakfast where we met up with some friends of
nolly. We went shopping for groceries at Fry's Food and Drug (you guys all know how Fry's Electronics got its start, right?) and we were all set for our Saturday night party. All we had to do was get the word out about our party, and spend the day sitting at our table.
(More to follow later. Happy new year everybody...)
