Yesterday I went out with library_lynn and missmea to Hans' Homemade Ice Cream to celebrate my birthday, which is actually today. The place started out as one of the first (Southern California) Swensen's Ice Cream franchises in 1971, but gave up their franchise after 18 years to go independent so they could continue to make their own ice cream on the premises. I had a root beer float with my sandwich, and for dessert I had a sundae consisting of Swiss Orange Chip (chocolate-orange ice cream with chocolate chips), Peppermint Stick, and Licorice ice cream. Somewhere in that no-man's-land between Indulgent and Repulsive...

One of the gifts I received was the Rutles DVD "All You Need is Cash." I'm looking forward to watching that real soon now.

In other news, we survived the Worldcon, relatively unscathed -- my knee is still sore from before, but now I also have a bad blister on my driving foot -- and in a few weeks we go on a cruise out of Chicago where we'll circumnavigate Lake Michigan.
