Some of you are on our Christmas card mailing list. And others of you have told me, "Just send the digital version." I mentioned earlier I'd finished our Christmas newsletter. Our 2007 Christmas newsletter is right here:
Chaz and Lynn's 2007 Christmas Newsletter
and you can click on the image to see a huge PDF (9.9 MB). Or view the PNG file (7.5 MB).

It's a joint project-- Lynn picks a bunch of photos from Hazel's Picture Gallery, and I edit down the batch to cover the highlights of the previous year. Since I got such a late start on it, I didn't do as much culling as I usually do, so there are a lot more photos than last year.

I've printed labels for the envelopes, and [livejournal.com profile] library_lynn and I will be signing a whole bunch of cards in an effort to have them postmarked before Christmas. We got the newsletters printed in record time on the HP CLJ. I noticed one omission -- we should have mentioned that [livejournal.com profile] missmea is in the Master's program at UC Riverside. Oh well. We can mention that next year, I guess.

The cards are random cards we bought at the store. Some years we've had really cool cards. I'd like to do more of that in future years. It takes a few extra weeks of planning, though, and not getting sick for half of December.

For those who came in late and want to see our previous years' newsletters, 2006 (1.8 MB PDF) and 2005 (770 KB PDF) are online. I know we've been doing it for longer than that. I need to find the old files and upload them! (In my copious...)

EDIT: Found viewing-size JPEG images for 2005, 2004 and 2003.

I must say..

Lynn's flamingo shoes are certainly made of awesomeness. I know that is a totally random comment, but I just hand to say that they caught my eye! XD

Either way~ Happy Holidays, Chaz!

But there were problems with security. And on behalf of InArtMedia.com and Cinema Epoch distribution, I want to personally thank you, Chaz.
The hotel however, deserves none of this praise. This is a part of the letter I'm sending to them.

"Your staff probably thinks this convention was populated with a bunch of delinquent kids with no other lives but to watch cartoons all day, but I’ll have you know that there were a lot of professionals like myself in the entertainment industry who were prevented from socializing because of the deliberate attempts to sabotage our convention by your management and security.

All night long, I’ve had to put up with security guards following myself and nearly all of my friends. Guests were booked into rooms far apart instead of at the same floor, as is the norm during conventions. And though most parties I went to were quiet, they were still subject to nonsensical complaints, wild accusations and security guards shutting them down for the slightest reason.

The behavior of your security guards was abominable and atrocious, and I have no reason to believe they were “only doing their jobs.” Our guests were profiled and targeted and this type of convention sabotage is inexcusable; and I happen to know that there was animosity on the part of your management because of contracts set up by the Hilton.

I realize urging a boycott of your hotel is pointless though I will recommend to other conventions to seek other convention centers for their business. I sincerely hope that in the future that your management take will their craniums out of their anal orifices and attempt to work with people who are bringing you revenue."
