BTW, are you in need of a photo-gopher next year at Worldcon? Margaret suggested we go; so I'm not going to say no. I'm going to get our memberships in the next couple of weeks.

I can use another minion, but not necessarily photography set-up stuff this time.

However, being able to have you go and shoot pictures and bring them back to me was handy, and may come up again.

I'm running the daily newszine, and there are a number of things that I could use help with...

library_lynn and I would like to know if you guys want to bunk at our place as a home base while you're going out and about touristing. We live in Anaheim, just a few miles from the convention site, so it's as good a base for most So-Cal touristing as the convention hotel...

Anything to help; I really enjoyed being a minion ::VBG:: I'll have my camera, a bigger variety of lenses & a flashgun, with me anyway - and a lot more experience in using them, by then (I have this mate who is a freelance Press Photographer; he's NUJ accredited).

As to the tourist bit... it's too soon to say - we don't even know where we'll be doing it, or for how long; but I'll pass that on to Margaret, thanks.

Ok, that last reply wasn't very clear... I'd be glad to help in any minioning role you need.

I can type quite fast, have good experience of Word and other applications. Plus my job is as an IT Manager, with years of general hardware/software use & support experience.

Good to know. Especially knowing you're getting into town well in advance of the con... might want you for set-up while Margaret goes around.

(To put things in concrete terms to present to Margaret: Our guest room is available for the two of you starting from the Saturday before the convention.)

Oh, I forgot something while I was in Glagow: I need a bumper sticker that says "Glasgow." Actually, I need four or five of them (pref. matching). Can you take a look around town please?

I'll see what's available in bumper stickers & let you know. I should be going up tomorrow, but that depends on the state of my right ankle - I went over on it today (Wednesday) & it's starting to bruise nicely now.

It's not a problem; I have to go up to the Glasgow office anyway, to install that ^&%$*&^ server... assuming I get the time away from doing the end-of-year accounts ::rant:: ::bang:: ::CRASH::

It'll give me something to focus on, apart from wringing certain engineers' necks!!!

Still working on that, I'm afraid. I've been in Glasgow almost every day for the past 3 weeks, but I've been stuck in the office, with no way to get out during shop hours (server installation & tweaking).
I should manage to get them next week, as I'll be up at the Glasgow office, but with some free time during the day.
