Cosplay Picnic in Orange (03-Dec-2011) Part 1 et seq.
So J0cey posted something about the food trucks at OC Fair, every Thursday from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, and listed six trucks that would be participating that week. I talked two of my co-workers into joining me and we went and checked them out.
I had some Argentine tacos with chimichurri sauce (basically oil, garlic, and lots of chopped parsley), and an empanada I didn't care for. I then had two little barbecue pork and bacon sandwiches. For dessert I had a Belgian waffle with cheese and bacon, and maple syrup. Yum!
Then that night I went to Coral Cafe. Matt met me there, he had a shirt he'd made for me (left). It turned out to be too big -- I'd given him a pattern for Christian's size, not mine!
I had brought a box of poker chips with numbers on them. We used those to randomly assign the Artists' Alley spaces. An artist, Richard, witnessed the whole thing, and helped. Tadao videoed the 45-minute operation.
The following Saturday, there was a picnic at a local park. I think it was the closest park that I'd been to for a cosplay picnic yet! It was just down the street at Tustin and Lincoln, in Orange.
I brought the leftover six-pack of IBC root beer bottles. They were a hit. Melody Vito (left) was happy to have one.
In the following week, I've received some notes from both the Kansas City and the New Orleans proto-bids, in response to my party notes. Go check out my two posts immediately previous to the one to see their comments.
I've also finally got the December Squeals from da Ghodfuzzy out. Next week I start work on the January issue if time allows.
