Friday evening nightlife: The Barea costumers in the bar and later upstairs, the marketplace open for evening shopping, and hospitality. That's all that was going on -- that and the faint hum of dozens of sewing machines as you walk the hallways. Lynn sat up for a little while reading in the room before going to bed.
The Costume Exhibit was open 9:00 to 5:00 each day. The Costume College FAQs shows a basic schedule for the weekend but doesn't mention the Exhibit, so you'll have to take my word for it. The convention is set up so that most people check in Thursday night and classes start rolling with a bang first thing each morning. Each of the three days is a full, full day of 8 hours of programs (classes) -- the first and last days aren't partial days the way they are at most other conventions. And because most people are here to take those classes, everyone needs to get a good night's sleep. With the possible exception of

Since Christian and I were volunteers, we didn't have the full packets with the schedules (pocket program grids). We had no idea when to expect people on their class breaks, apart from every hour and 30 minutes after the hour. I'd suggest that perhaps C.C. should post a few copies on the walls. Maybe even print an enlarged copy or two? There's a berthaprinter in fandom, not far away...
EDIT: Apparently there were dance lessons from 8:00 to 10:00 pm Friday, according to that schedule. Guess I missed that...
