Linux, Slackware or otherwise
Sep. 9th, 2013 04:15 pmHelp! I need a bootable Slackware disc. What ISO image am I looking for?
I want to be able to put a CD-Rom into a PC, boot from the disc, run a few commands to set a static IP address, and then use NMAP to scan another IP address to see what ports it has open.
I'm specifically trying to test for the (invalid) port 0.
EDIT: I believe I'm looking to make a "live cd."

Date: 2013-09-13 06:57 pm (UTC)Most distributions will now boot as a livecd; ubuntu does, in particular.
You'll find more bundled tools if you look specifically for things intended to be used primarily as rescue disks. Knoppix is the one of those I've used most often.
