More about the current situation. For the past week or two I've been rewriting my picture database software to use MySQL, replacing the DB_File implementation I wrote two years ago (when I started this journal). I don't have all of the features working properly yet, so some of the things on the above links aren't working correctly. I'm hoping to get that cleared up real soon now! To give three examples, the "section" links aren't showing up properly (there are 8 parts to the Gallifrey photos, but you won't see those parts at the end of those pages); the cross-referencer isn't back up yet, which you can see because there aren't any bold names in the captions; and clicking on the thumbnail doesn't bring up the viewing size image at the moment.

So metaphorically speaking, the Picture Gallery isn't entirely in little pieces strewn across my virtual workbench anymore, but I haven't finish reassembling things with my invisible screwdriver. When I get caught up with the rewrite -- and with the new pictures -- I'll get back into the recovery of the old photos.

(And nobody's commented on my dead chinchilla song yet. Hmmm. Came up with another verse though: "Hang him by the tail on your rearview mirror.")
